Tyler S. Foutz

Short BIO

Tyler’s law practice has focused on commercial litigation for the last 15 years. He represents companies, both large and small, HOA’s, and individuals, in disputes pertaining to construction, real estate, landlord-tenant, and a variety of other areas involving business and contract-based disputes.

Professional Experience
Tyler became a partner at Fetzer Booth in 2020. Before joining Fetzer Booth, Tyler was a partner at a commercial litigation firm specializing in construction and real estate litigation. Tyler has been involved in litigation ranging from small disputes to complex multi-million dollar cases. He has successfully completed jury and bench trials in State and Federal Court and frequently appears in courts in all districts in the State of Utah. He has also argued before the Utah Court of Appeals, Utah Supreme Court, and participated in arguments at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

 

Education
Tyler received his JD from the University of Oregon School of Law. He was a member of the Oregon Law Review. During law school, Tyler gained valuable litigation experience while serving as an intern with the United States Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division in Denver, Colorado, and as a litigation law clerk. Tyler also received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah.

 

Bar Leadership and Affiliations
Tyler presently serves as the Chair of the Construction section of the Utah State Bar. He is also involved in the Real Estate and Litigation sections. In 2018, Tyler sat on the Utah State Bar legislative review committee as well. He has presented in legal education seminars on these and other topics throughout his career.
